Hello, my lovely readers! I hope you are having a great summer. It’s nearly the end of the summer. Summertimes in Scandinavia are the best—the warm weather, a long daytime, and a beautiful and clear sky—so I had to enjoy the summer to the fullest until it was completely gone. I know I will miss it until next year. So as one of my efforts to enjoy the Scandinavian summer, I went to Branäs, Sweden. In today’s blog post, I will share my experience with you all about 9 things to do in Branäs, Sweden, in the summer.
Then let me tell you a little about my experience in this beautiful ski resort city, Branäs, Sweden, and what you can do there.
Things to Do in Branäs, Sweden, in Summer | Unique Accommodation
Branäs, Sweden, is a newly built ski resort. The ski resort in Branäs, Sweden, is still being built as of summer 2024. The resort area is getting bigger, and every building in the area is new. Are you looking for unique accommodations? Then this village is the perfect place to find yourself a unique accommodation with a Scandinavian touch! There are many luxurious cabins, mountain lodge cabins, and apartments to rent.

There are many types of unique accommodations in Branäs, Sweden, to rent.
1. Enjoy the Scandinavian Cabin Experience
The very first thing to do in Branäs, Sweden, is to enjoy the cabin experience. You can view many accommodations you can rent on the Branäs website.

Inside our cabin by Eagle’s Cliff
Eagle’s Cliff
We stayed in the Eagle’s Cliff, which is one of the accommodation types you can rent at Branäs. As the name suggests, it is on the cliff and has one of the best views in the area. From Eagle’s Cliff, we could see the beautiful river called Klarälven that flowed through the area. It is the longest river that flows through Sweden and Norway. The river has many beautiful, soft curves throughout this area, and it is so wonderful to be able to have a view of this magnificent river from where we stayed.
A glistening river view welcomed us in the morning during our stay here, and it was an unforgettable experience.
Make Fires at a Fireplace
A Scandinavian cabin experience is complete with a fireplace, and it is not different in the summer. In Northern Europe, it can still be quite cold and chilly in the evening and at night, even during the summertime.
Just put on some fire at a fireplace and it will warm up the spacious cabin quickly. One of my favorite things to do with a fireplace is to make s’mores. S’mores are an American thing, but I learned how to make one in America, and I brought the culture here. My mother-in-law and my husband loved them.

A sauna, a washing machine, and a dryer were inside the shower room. It was convenient to take a cold shower after using a sauna and dry our sauna attire with a dryer.
Enjoy Sauna
In Branäs, Sweden, it was not only quite cold but also very windy when we were there. We were at Eagle’s Cliff, which is one of the top points in the area. That’s why it was even more wonderful that there was a sauna at Eagle’s Cliff. After going for an evening walk, your body is longing for something warm and cozy. That’s when you can enjoy the sauna!
You can have a spa experience here. In the sauna, there was a small window that had a view of the mountain lodge cabins. The cabins had lights on at night, which looked so cozy.

My mother-in-law sat by the balcony in the morning with a cup of coffee, looking at the river and the cliff.
Chill at the Cabin
Last but not least, just chill at the cabin. Bring a book and read it at the cabin by the fireplace. Drink some coffee or hot chocolate. Make pizza. Watch a movie altogether. Do the cabin thing.
2. Go for a Walk around Ski Resort & Mountain Lodge
After breakfast at the cabin, you can go for a little walk around the area. Branäs is a ski resort area, and it has a magical scene covered in snow in the winter. But that shouldn’t stop you from going for a walk here in the summer. It has a very interesting scene when there is no snow around.

Ski Resort
You can see the ski slope and the ski area. There are fireweeds and berrybushes in the field. Go to the top of the ski slope, and you can see the panoramic view of the resort and the village. It is by the bridge called Branäs Skidbro.
Mountain Lodge
From Eagle’s Cliff, you will be able to see the whole mountain lodge area. The village has many famous Scandinavian-style cabins with grass growing on the roof, called Turf Houses. It is fun to take a look around.
Digerfallet
Diggerfallet is 20 minutes away by car from Branäs, but it is worth driving there to see this waterfall. From Branäs, the road up to Digerfallet has a drive along the river Klarälven, and it is a beautiful drive up there.

Berries were particularly big in Branäs, Sweden.
3. Pick Berries
I was in Branäs, Sweden, in mid-August, and it was a perfect time to pick berries. I suppose you could pick berries at any time in August. Wild berries are growing everywhere for you to pick in Norway and Sweden, but I had to mention picking berries in Branäs. So far, this is the best spot I know for berries. I almost don’t want to share this with anyone, but I will tell you!
Blueberry & Lingonberry Bushes
There are so many lingonberries and blueberries in the field in Branäs. They were so big and plump like they were on steroids or something. The berry bushes were big and strong. Both my mother-in-law and I picked a basketful of berries in one sitting. I brought my berries back home and measured them. I picked 776 grams of lingonberries and blueberries.
Rowan Berry Trees
If you have more time, you could also pick some rowan berries. The rowan berry trees are hard to miss, and there were so many trees around the area. You could make some rowan berry sauce to go with meat dishes. That’s how we eat in Norway.

Do you see the river on the left? That is the river Klarälven. It was amazing to drive by the river we saw from our cabin.
4. Go for a Drive by the River
There are grocery stores you could go from Branäs and you can drive alongside the river Klarälven. Many attractions, like Digerfallet and Utmarksmuseet (explained below), are alongside the river, so you’ll be able to enjoy the scenery while driving.
5. Visit Utmarksmuseet Area
Utmarksmuseet
Utmarksmuseet has a Pilgrim Tapestry that was embroidered by women in Normandy in 1067–1076. It is 70 meters long and depicts the Battle of Hastings. The admission fee is 100 SEK.
Café Utmark
There is a big open fireplace at the café where you can take Swedish fika, meaning a coffee break in Swedish. Take a cup of coffee, juice, tea, and some bread.

The buildings from the 1600s are still here for us to see at Dalby Hembygdgård.
Dalby Hembygdgård

Natural History Museum
Here, you can see the stuffed animals that live around the area. It is a small museum with real stuffed animals and it is interesting to see what kind of animals are living in the area. One of the staff told us that they have white elk living in the area, as you can see from the picture of the stuffed white elk.
