1. Pumpkin Spice Latte
A fall favorite, the Pumpkin Spice Latte! It has been so iconic that it even earned an acronym, “PSL.” It is a comforting blend of espresso, steamed plant milk, and a medley of spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove, topped with whipped cream. To make a plant-based version, you can simply substitute the milk and cream for plant milk and cream. Or to make it more special, you could top the latte with coconut cream. It’s a taste of autumn in a cup.

Use pumpkin pie spice in your pumpkin spice latte! You can make your spice mix at home by mixing spice and grinding it. I find the measurement to be slightly different for each brand, and I just use this one. It’s my favorite so far 🧡

2. Chai latte
Like the pumpkin spice latte, the Chai has a blend of spices such as cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, star annis, and black tea. Mix it with some plant milk and date syrup. It is one of my favorite companions on the weekend morning. My husband bought a bag of masala chai from India, and I love the smell of it when I open the bag to make some tea in the morning. It’s a comfort in a mug. And it has so many antioxidants in this blend of tea. You need to give it a try!

3. Hot chocolate
There are countless ways of making hot chocolate, but I like my hot chocolate strong, dark, and healthy. Making my hot chocolate with a twist is pretty easy. Into a cup of plant milk, mix your cocoa powder and date syrup. If you want more caffeine kick in your drink, add a teaspoon of instant coffee to make a mocha. It makes your drink even richer in taste and contains more caffeine.
Did you know that cacao is one of the most antioxidant-dense foods in the world? But most cocoa powder (not cacao!) or chocolate we buy at a store goes through high temperatures and processes so it loses a lot of its antioxidant properties. So it’s good to buy unprocessed raw organic cacao powder if you want to get those nutrients. It has a subtle taste and color than the cacao powder, so I just use it more in my hot chocolate or chocolate recipes 🤤 I also love that the packaging is well-sealed so it won’t degrade the quality. Oh, how much I love hot chocolate as my fall drink!
The cacao powder I’ve been having is Navitas Organics Cacao Powder. It is creamy and has a beautiful, mild, chocolatey flavor. Since it has a mild flavor, I use a lot of it in my hot chocolate!

4. Mulled Wine
This spiced and warm drink is a European tradition, perfect for the cooler evenings of the fall and the winter. Traditionally, it is a combination of red wine, mulling spices, and citrus fruits that create festive and comforting hot beverages. I don’t like to have alcohol in my daily evening, so I opt for grape juice instead of red wine! They work so wonderfully, and you could even go for blueberry syrup or “saft” which is a concentrated liquid that you can mix with water to make your drink in Norway. Then just boil the drink of your choice with some spices and citrus fruits to make the “mulled wine” without alcohol.

5. Herbal Tea
After looking at these heartier drinks, herbal tea might sound less exciting. But they don’t have to be! There are so many romantic and beautiful herbal teas we could try, and they are great for many reasons. First of all, they don’t have caffeine so they are great for the evening. Many people don’t know that there is caffeine in green and black tea. So for those of you who are more sensitive to caffeine like me, it might be a good idea to avoid green and black tea, or any kind of drinks with caffeine in the afternoon and get a cup of herbal tea instead. Secondly, there are so many drinks that smell beautiful – herbal, fruity, or floral. They provide aromatherapy in a cup. Last but not least, they are light yet fill you up with warmth, so it’s a great drink to start your evening with and throughout the night. Explore the herbal tea world.

6. Matcha Latte
This latte is so versatile. Just like coffee, matcha latte works well with ice in the summer, and warm in the winter. Make a big cup of warm matcha latte with soft plant milk foam on the top. It is savory and sweet at the same time with a hint of grassy, earthy, and fresh taste of the matcha powder. I cannot live without my matcha latte. This recipe deserves a separate post. I also love the deep green colors of this drink. Although it might not exactly be a color of the autumn, it looks so magical and the warm matcha latte is so filling and wonderful during the colder season.

7. Cafe Latte with Plant Milk
Last but not least, let’s not forget cafe latte for your fall drinks! Coffee is such a big part of our lives already, that we sometimes forget that coffee can also have a variation for the colder season. Instead of regular milk, try a cafe latte with coconut milk to have a more filling drink for the fall. Or make a cafe latte with plant milk and dust the top with a splash of cinnamon and/or cacao powder. It is like coffee in an autumn suit and a scarf. I also love sweetening the cafe latte with date syrup. It is so wonderfully sweet and cozy, it is surely an instant cheer-me-up drink.
