The edible butter candle makes our evening even cozier.

Let’s now go over one of the most important pieces of information about this recipe: the ingredients you need for edible butter candles.

Important Ingredients for Edible Butter Candles

There are two essential ingredients you need to make any kind of edible butter candle.

1. Natural Food-Grade Candle Wicks

To make candles, you need candle wicks. But not just any candle wicks! You might be able to find candle wicks at any hobby store, but we need food-grade candle wicks that are made with natural ingredients. Most candle wicks sold at stores are safe to make regular candles with and burn. But since we are making candles that we are going to eat, the candle wicks mustn’t have bad chemical ingredients for our bodies.

🌟 My Pick for Candle Wicks 🌟

Hemp & Organic Beeswax Candle Wicks 8 inch, Phinicco

This candle wick is made from hemp and beeswax, allowing the candle wich to burn slower and stay sturdy and strong. And that makes it a perfect candle wick to use on a butter candle!

2. Butter

Then, of course, you need butter to make the butter candles! You need wax to make candles, but we won’t need wax to make the butter candle. Butter will cause the candle to burn while making the whole place smell so cozy and buttery.

Any kind of butter could work for this butter candle recipe, so choose the butter you like. As for me, I’m vegan, so I chose some delicious vegan butter. 😋

  1. Hello! Looking forward to making these for holiday gifts. What size (Oz.) jars do you use? I’m looking at getting reusable ramekins. Thanks!

    1. Hello, Carey! What a wonderful idea, it would make a wonderful holiday gift! I use two 11- or 12-ounce cups/jars for this recipe to make two medium-sized candles. You could also use about a 23-oz jar to make one big candle. Please remember to check the height of the jar before making the candle so it doesn’t go over the height of the candle wick. Wish you a great holiday 🌟

    2. If you are specifically looking for ramekins, you could use two 8 or 10 oz ramekins to make two candles. But you will most likely have some leftover butter. 😊 I hope this helps! Sending warm hugs

      1. Great, this helps a lot!! Thank you, happy holidays to you as well! 😁💛
