Hello, welcome! I’m glad to have you here to tell you about all natural beauty tips. There are so many beauty tips out there, but some can be so expensive or too complicated to follow. But no worries, I’m here to tell you natural beauty tips that are easy to follow and cost almost nothing!

This is also part of my skincare routine. And it is my hope that you could also incorporate this into your lifestyle. This natural beauty tips is eating scientifically proven foods to achieve healthy skin.

Looking for All Natural Beauty Tips…

I hit the age of 30 last year.

Although I am quite content with where I am in my life and therefore haven’t hit the “Age Thirty Crisis,” I noticed that now I have smile lines!

It was a shock to see some wrinkles from my nose to my mouth.

Those visible lines made me feel old, not the number of years I’ve lived.

Skin is the largest organ in our body, therefore, the visible wrinkles on our skin are, indeed, a sign that our bodies are getting older.

Taking good care of our skin is important for our overall health.

So the natural beauty tips I’m about to share with you are actually tips for taking care of your health!

Scientifically-Proven All Natural Beauty Tips

Help for Your Skin

I listened to this extremely interesting and useful podcast from Dr. Michael Greger on Nutrition Facts that talked about food ingredients that could improve the quality of your skin.

Dr. Greger’s concise explanations of the latest scientific research are like a bible to my health and well-being, and I’d love to share some of the takeaways from the episode Help for Your Skin with you.

Plant Power for Healthy Skin

First, it is worth noting that a healthy plant-based diet is associated with healthy and plump skin.

Studies also found that a diet consisting of meat and processed food was associated with more wrinkles.

Skin is the most vulnerable organ in the body as it is exposed to the external world and gets oxidized (aged) by UV rays from the sun and oxygen in the air.

Thus, fueling your body with antioxidants might be a good idea.

Best All-Natural Beauty Tips

One of the best all-natural beauty tips I can give you is incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your diet on a regular basis.

Doing something every day can be accrued to give you a big result.

You can try to incorporate one more veggie in your meal a day, that would be a step to take.

(And one step a day is 365 steps in a year!)

According to science, the antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables can greatly help your skin for the reasons below.

Antioxidants in Fruits and Vegetables for Skin

  • Decreasing the oxidative stress load
  • Providing anti-inflammatory benefits
  • Protecting from sun damage
  • Improving collagen production
  • Repairing DNA

However, there were a few specific food ingredients that were put to the test to see their effects on the skin.

Here are 3 foods that were proven scientifically to improve our skin visibly.

All Natural Beauty Tips | Top 3 Foods for Healthy Skin Based on Science

1. Almonds

Conducted by the Almond Board, there was research done that about 55 grams of almonds a day after 16 weeks had significantly decreased wrinkles. Now, that’s impressive!

But 55 grams is like two full palmfuls of nuts and that seems like a big portion to me.

As Dr. Greger mentions in the podcast, there was a study that showed a significant drop in LDL cholesterol after eating only 10 grams (that is just a few almonds) for six weeks.

So we might be able to get the same effect on our skin by eating a few almonds a day.

It will certainly leave room in my stomach to eat other healthy and delicious food, too.

I try to include raw almonds like this in my diet every day. Raw almonds have more nutrition than roasted almonds such as vitamin E, although roasted almonds taste nuttier and stronger.

Try some raw almonds at a good price!

2. Green tea

Do you like a cup of green tea? I love all kinds of tea, but green tea is one of my favorites.

A study found that the phytonutrients in green tea protect skin against UV rays from the sun, and help improve skin quality.

After drinking green tea for a few months, there was a 16% reduction in skin roughness, and 25% reduction in scaling, and improved skin elasticity and hydration.

If you want to get the best out of green tea, it is best to eat the whole tea leaves instead of drinking green tea which is a steeped water from the tea leaves.

That is drinking matcha, which is a powder form of whole green tea leaves.

I love green tea, but I prefer matcha (or called malcha in Korean).

The grassy, fresh, but also nutty and savory flavor of green tea calms my body and soul. But now I know it even protects my skin, too!

Flaxseed is also a great egg replacement in a baking dish for vegans!

3. Flaxseed

Flaxseed is one of the ingredients that Dr. Greger recommends to include in a daily diet.

I try to include that as much as I can in my meal every day.

Flaxseed has a lot of incredible nutrients that we need, but there is also a study that it could help skin conditions too!

A Spoonful of Flaxseed for Healthy Skin

In a randomized, double-blind, 12-week study, women who consumed a half teaspoon of flaxseed oil a day were found to have a great decrease in skin sensitivity and redness.

Let me emphasize that it was only a half teaspoon of oil, which is about the same amount of oil found in a teaspoon and a half of ground flaxseed.

After three months, women who ate flaxseed oil had more hydrated, better barrier function, and smoother skin than the women who took safflower oil.

Foods for Skin as All-Natural Beauty Tips

When we think about ways to treat our skin, we often think about creams and moisturizers that we can topically put on our skin.

But isn’t it amazing to know that we can also enjoy some of our foods regularly and improve our skin at the same time?

So we could treat our skin both inside and out!

This is what I love about natural beauty tips that involve using simple and natural ingredients or methods to improve our health and beauty.

Moreover, it is also sustainable and eco-friendly to help our planet. 🌎🌳🌱

How I Have Foods as All-Natural Beauty Tips

Now that we know there are scientifically proven top 3 foods for the skin, we have the most important and the last step to take – Following the all-natural beauty tips by incorporating the foods into our diet.

Here’s how I do it.

I try to eat a few almonds during lunch and drink a cup of matcha in the afternoon.

Flaxseed is a little trickier to include as you need to have it freshly ground for the best absorption of nutrients and oil inside.

I usually freshly grind it and put it in my rice, fries, or baked goods.

On weekends, I love putting flaxseed in my pancake or waffle batter.

It’s good to have this knowledge so we can consciously try to eat these wonderful foods that nature provides us.

Again, I want to thank Dr. Greger for sharing this information for all of us to learn.
