Valentine’s Day Home Decor Guidelines
When looking for your Valentine’s Day home decor, here are three factors to consider as a guideline.
1. Romantic Color Moods
When you are thinking of Valentine’s Day home decor, the first and foremost thing to consider is thinking of the color scheme. Red, pink, and white are the iconic color combinations on Valentine’s Day, so try to get your home decor items that are in these colors for your romantic setting. I have specific interior items you can look for below, so keep reading. 📖
2. Satiates Five Senses
Colors are one of the most important factors to consider when choosing your Valentine’s Day home decor, but it is not the only thing. We live in a world that has five senses, so think of all these five senses when you are thinking of home decor such as romantic scented candles! Gorgeous scents from natural-scented soy candles can satiate not only your sight but also the smell.
3. Think Sustainably
Last but not least, I find this factor quite important to go over – let’s think sustainably. There are cheap Valentine’s Day home decor or just “stuff” in general that cannot be used over time, which is not good for the environment. And to be honest, those cheap quick stuff don’t even look that nice at our home. So let’s get something good quality and sustainable so we can reuse it for this time of the year again and again.
Valentine’s Day Home Decor Items
Now that you know how to look for home decor on your Valentine’s Day, let’s look at specific items for the day and my recommendations.

I love some of my artificial flowers too, but the real flowers look and smell the best for sure!
1. Real Plants & Flowers
There are many fake plants and flowers for decorations, but why don’t we get some real plants and flowers? They are even more gorgeous, smell beautiful, and you can keep them even after Valentine’s Day to keep remembering the beautiful romantic times. And I’m not talking about pink-painted real plants, but real plants that are naturally pink, such as the Pink Polka Dot Plant. Or you can also get some fresh-cut roses which are my favorites! Fresh-cut roses are one of the most wonderful smells in the whole wide world.

2. Natural Scented Candles
Scented candles are one of the best Valentine’s Day home decor items – the flames, beautiful fire crackling sound, and the wonderful smell altogether create this romantic setting. But I recommend natural candles such as soy candles with essential oil because artificial scents can cause allergic reactions and are very bad for the environment. Most store-bought candles are made with paraffin and artificial scents to cut the cost, and these ingredients are harmful to health and the environment. I always get a headache after inhaling paraffin candles with artificial scents.
But because there are many people out there who have the same concerns as you and I, so there are beautiful natural-scented soy candles for you to light your romantic night. Here is my recommendation.
LA JOLIE MUSE Sandalwood Rose Candle
This gorgeous soy candle is in a delicate light pink jar with a sexy rose and Sandalwood scent as a top note and musk and Cedarwood as a base note. It can also last for 50 hours, so you can certainly light it up throughout your whole night on Valentine’s Day.

3. Tablecloth
There are many delicious and beautiful Valentine’s Day recipes out there, but they might not be exactly what you and your partner’s favorite… You want to cook your partner’s favorite meal but still want to make it romantic somehow. Well then, the best way to set the dinner table romantically is to have a beautiful tablecloth such as this one here.
Solino Home Pink Cotton Linen Tablecloth 60 x 120 Inch
Made of cotton and linen by skilled artisans, this tablecloth in dusty pink can surely set the mood. No matter what you cook for Valentine’s Day, any food would look and feel romantic on this pink cotton linen tablecloth.
4. Cushions
Do you sometimes dream of changing your whole furniture into pink? I do, sometimes. It would be so wonderful to completely change your sofa into a hot pink color just for Valentine’s Day. But it might not be so practical… The next best thing is to change the cushions and the blankets for Valentine’s Day theme! The best thing about it is that you can simply change the cushion covers to completely change the mood, making it a perfect Valentine’s Day home decor item.
PHF 100% Cotton Waffle Weave Euro Sham Covers Pink
This is 100% natural washed cotton that is soft, safe, and skin-friendly for you and the environment. I love this light dusty pink color with waffle weave patterns on the cushion cover. It is a beautiful romantic classic cushion cover to set the mood on your couch.

If you want a deeper color for your cushion, this cushion cover made of cotton is in coral pink color. It has a pop of color and a honeycomb waffle-weaving design that makes the set a decorative Valentine’s interior piece.
5. Blankets for Couch
Cushions are not the only Valentine’s Day home decor for the couch. You can also have blankets in the Valentine’s theme! I can’t wait to watch some romantic movies on a couch with a soft blanket over us and eat some chocolate.
PHF 100% Cotton Waffle Weave Throw Blanket
Do you want to match your couch blanket with pillows for your Valentine’s Day? This exquisite waffle-weave design is from the same brand as the pillow case I introduced above. It has a classic and beautiful design with a beautiful dusty light pink color that can go with many different styles of home interiors.
6. Towels
If you want to make your bathroom also filled with a Valentine’s romantic mood, how about a rose in a vase, a beautiful scented candle lit, and super soft cotton towels? Honestly, you don’t need a lot of things to have a Valentine’s mood at your home. Just these small touches can make you feel love and romance.
MARTHA STEWART 100% Cotton Bath Towels Set Of 6 Piece, 2 Bath Towels, 2 Hand Towels, 2 Washcloths
This classic design cotton bath towel is soft, gentle, and light. Especially in a white and bright bathroom, just a little bit of color can go a long way like this blush pink-colored set of towels. I found this set to be the best with 100% cotton. Be careful not to get acrylic synthetic towels, they can look and feel fluffy but not very good for your skin and the environment!

Some chocolate truffles, berries, and rose tea for the evening on Valentine’s Day?
7. Valentine’s Day Sweets
Last but not least, having Valentine’s Day sweets on a table can be part of the Valentine’s Day home decor! If you have one box of Valentine’s Day sweets with all the beautiful Valentine’s Day home decor I gave you above, it will certainly be the final touch for Valentine’s Day and your night will be even sweeter 😉 Once I got married, there was less distinction between “his” gift and “my” gift. We wanted to get something for both of us. And let me tell you, my husband doesn’t care a whole lot about the cute pink cushions or blankets I got for our home. It’s more for myself to feel loved and womanly 💗 But he certainly appreciates Valentine’s Day sweets! So now I get a box of yummy goodies with romantic gift packaging for both of us to enjoy. Here are some of the healthy and delicious sweets recommendations from me.
Vegan, Gluten Free: Chocolate Truffle Heart Box (11 Pieces) | Allergy-Friendly Valentine’s Day Chocolate Candy
