Prepare 1 cup of dried chickpeas. Rinse the chickpeas and clean them. Soak them in the water overnight or for approximately 8 hours.
Remove water from the chickpeas. The soaked chickpeas would be 2 and a half cups.
Add 1/2 cup of water and chickpeas in a food processor. Work the processor until it is ground roughly, but not into a purée.
Transfer the mixture into a big bowl and add ground flaxseed, rolled oats, and the spices. Mix well.
Prepare a frying pan and put on high heat. When the pan is heated, pour half a tablespoon of cooking oil.
Divide the mixture into four and make a patty for each.
Place two on the pan and cook on medium-high heat. Cook with the lid on for 5 minutes, and cook the other side for another 5 minutes with the lid on.
Repeat the process and finish cooking the other two patties.
