Hello, my lovely people! How is the weather like where you are? I’m in Oslo, Norway, and I believe it’s one of the nicest days here in July. We have about 70–54 °F (23–14 °C) on average in July, which is a pleasant warmth without extreme heat. The air is crisp and can be even chilly in the evening, with long, extended daylight. It’s still bright outside at 11 at night. However, Korea, where I am from, has very hot and humid summer days at the moment. My family in Seoul tells me it’s so hot that it feels like walking in a sauna when they are walking outside. I might not miss how hot it is in Seoul during the summer, but I miss the Korean summer desserts and cold drinks, such as iced mugwort latte, strawberry latte, and a coffee sherbet! Yes, that’s right, there is a popular coffee ice cream in Korea, and in memory of Korean summer, I want to share this coffee sherbet recipe with you today. It tastes like a café latte in frozen dessert form. It’s gorgeous.
I also wrote a recipe for coffee sorbet, which is also a frozen coffee dessert but a little lighter than this coffee sherbet recipe.

About Sherbet
The ingredients of sherbets are often the main flavoring fruit ingredient, or the juice, sweetener, and milk or cream. Sometimes, egg whites or gelatin can be added to the recipe for texture, like gelato.
Sorbet vs Sherbet
Both sorbet and sherbets are quite light and refreshing, usually made with refreshing fruit types.
The biggest difference between sorbet and sherbet is the inclusion of dairy products, egg whites, and gelatin. Sherbets always have milk or cream, egg whites, or gelatin.
Sorbet, on the other hand, can be made with only pure fruits or even juice. Some types of sweetener can be added to sorbet, but usually, that’s all you need to make a sorbet. Therefore, sorbet is vegan, whereas sherbet includes milk and is not suitable for vegans.
But nowadays, you can make sherbets with plant milk and it tastes absolutely amazing! In today’s blog post, that’s what I’m going to be sharing.
Korean Ice Cream
Many Korean ice cream flavors are based on Korean desserts or cuisine, such as chestnuts from Yang Gang and red beans from red bean paste. Here are some popular Korean ice cream flavors:

Why Make Homemade Coffee Sherbet
I don’t think you are, but if you are still wondering whether you should try making this coffee sherbet or not, here are three reasons why I recommend it!
1. Easy to Make
First and foremost, this is an easy sherbet recipe. You don’t even need to make fresh cups of espresso with an espresso machine, as I do with my coffee sorbet recipe here. You only need instant coffee to make this homemade coffee sherbet! I used instant coffee here not only for convenience but also because the original Korean coffee ice cream tastes like instant coffee. I don’t know whether they use instant coffee in their ice cream or not, but it works well in my coffee sherbet recipe!

I am not encouraging you to take more caffeine at all. However, a little boost of caffeine is found to be helpful to our body. It gives us a little more energy when we need it during the day! The only thing I would like to mention is that caffeine can last in your body for a long time. Personally, I can tell the difference so I try not to take coffee after 2 p.m.

Method
- In a bowl, pour all the ingredients. Mix the instant coffee, sugar, and salt well. Let it sit until all the ingredients dissolve into the water.
- Once everything is well mixed, pour the coffee liquid into the CREAMi pint. Place the storage lid on a pint and freeze for 24 hours.
- Remove the pint from the freezer and remove the lid from the pint. Place the pint into the Ninja Creami Ice Cream Maker.
- Select LIGHT ICE CREAM. Run the program.
- When processing is complete, remove the sorbet from the pint.
- Serve immediately. Enjoy!

If you want to make an iced latte or some coffee milkshake, then simply add a scoop of this gorgeous coffee sherbet into the milk. Then you just made some super quick coffee milkshakes with the coffee sherbet! Enjoy!
