When it comes to interior design, color is one of the most powerful tools that can transform any space. I moved into the apartment I owned for the first time, I did a lot of research. I quickly realized that warm beige colors fit best with my aesthetics. Living in Norway, it wasn’t difficult to decorate my home with one of the most loved colors in Scandinavia — a style known as Scandinavian design.
Beige is such a timeless color that continues to captivate homeowners and designers alike. (If you love a cozy home, you might also enjoy my post on leafy greens for a healthy lifestyle to match!) In this blog post, we’ll explore the versatility of warm beige colors and provide you the examples of how I decorated my home with this color.
1. Warm Beige Colors for Your Walls
Consider using light beige as the primary color in your living room, bedroom, or dining room. It provides a serene backdrop for your furnishings and allows your decor to shine.
2. Bedding and Textiles
Invest in beige bedding such as pillowcases, blanket covers, and even a headboard. Not only does it give elegance and comfort to your bed and bedroom, it is also easier to clean than a white sheet. Just note that it still shows spots when it needs cleaning.
3. Wooden Furniture
Warm beige complements natural materials such as wood, stone, and rattan. I love incorporating light woods into my interior design! Oak, pine, and bamboo trees are absolutely gorgeous when they are treated with light beige colors. I love showing the natural wood patterns and texture of these woods on my furniture such as tables and on the floor.
4. Fabric Pieces
Fabric pieces such as pillows, rugs, curtains, and lampshades are absolutely gorgeous in different shades of beige. Beige fabric pieces show different textures better than deeper or more vibrant colors. They are also less prone to browning and darkening. That means it is easier to take care of your housing!
5. Sofa: The Centerpiece of Warm Beige Colors
A sofa is like a combination of the number 3 wooden furniture and the number 4 fabric pieces. It is a huge piece of furniture that fills up your living room. Choosing this piece will completely change the whole atmosphere of your room. By choosing a warm beige color for your sofa, you are choosing warmth and coziness.
It is ironic that we find beige so beautiful, yet we like it even more because it makes other objects shine. That is exactly the beauty of using warm beige colors — they set a beautiful, cozy canvas for the home. My home has an overall beige and white tone with green, yellow, and gold as statement colors. I hope you have fun decorating your home, too!
